PROCESS:

FJ Stairways introduced Convert-A-Stair in 2016.  It is the first prefabricated carpet-ready staircase that can be “converted” to a hardcover staircase at any time.  Through a patent pending design, Convert-A-Stair is weather resistant and can be installed even before the roof of the house has been constructed!  This eliminates the need for temporary stairs and enables builders to “frame to” the staircase for a perfect fit every time.   Traditional hardwood cover staircases have to be continually refinished on-site due to even minimal construction traffic.  Convert-A-Stair hardwood covers can be installed within three hours and can match the flooring in both wood species and stain.
